We’re pleased to invite you to an ONLINE REGIONAL MEETING for residency operators based in Germany, co-hosted by IGBK and Res Artis.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, 21st November at 10-11.30am (CET).

To attend, please register here by Wednesday, 6th November.

treffen 21nov Residencies

The meeting will open with a report from Res Artis about their recent conference in Taiwan where a.o. the theme of collaboration was discussed. We will share the key concerns and questions that emerged and provide some further information about the field of art residencies in Taiwan today.

In addition, IGBK will present the newly revised touring artists funding database. This database is a valuable resource also for residency operators, providing information on stipends, project and travel funding, residencies etc., with a particular focus on mobility to and from Germany.

Furthermore, we will discuss cross-border cooperation and collaborations between residency operators based in Germany and their neighbouring countries.

The rest of the meeting will be dedicated to matters of concern for artists residencies based in Germany. We want to hear from you about what items you would like to discuss. There is a registration deadline for the meeting to give us time to liaise with registered attendees and develop an agenda that is relevant and useful for you. So, please register, and then we’ll get in touch!

The meeting will be held in English and via Zoom. Questions and feedback in German are welcome.

Residencies mapping

In 2023, IGBK has been developing a mapping of artist residencies in the field of visual arts in Germany. It is published as a further service for artists and residency operators in English on the IGBK website.

Residencies are important structures that afford artists individual mobility and exchange with local art scenes and environments. The networking of residency programs as well as the existence of safe spaces for artists are still of great importance. We hope that the mapping on the IGBK-website helps to further promote these issues.

We invite operators of artist residences to present their profile in the mapping. Here operators can submit information on their residency on the IGBK website via a form.
