Kunstpavillon Burgbrohl

The ArtLab in the Kunstpavillon Burgbrohl is a place where contemporary art concepts are developed in rural areas, cultural resources in rural life are discovered and made visible to the public. In 2016, an artist-in-residence programme was established and artists were invited who specialise in rural areas and have realised participatory art and cultural projects that incorporate the rural environment and actively seek dialogue with diverse communities in order to involve them in their creative processes. The focus is on performative interventions and social practices of artistic production, where possible involving the rural population in the creative processes.
There are irregular calls for proposals. Informal enquiries with the intention of developing a participatory project in rural areas are welcome.

In addition to the Kunstpavillon, there is a 60 square metre studio flat with kitchen and bathroom, space for one artist, an artist couple or an artist collective.

Suitable presentation formats are developed for the artistic work.
