The Platform is a qualification project for cultural workers in the city of Munich. Since 2009 it has been funded by the Munich Employment and Qualification Programme (MBQ) of the Department of Labour and Economic Affairs. The supporting organisation is Münchner Arbeit gemeinnützige GmbH.
The PLATFORM is unique in Germany in its combination of qualification for the cultural labour market and the provision of studio and exhibition spaces for visual artists and creative people.
The Platform's studios are located on a former industrial site in the south of Munich. In a yellow-blue building that can be recognised from afar, it extends over a 2,000 sqm floor in the immediate vicinity of the Aidenbachstraße underground station.
23 bright studios are currently being allocated to 40 professionally working artists in a selection process. The studios are managed and rented by Münchner Arbeit gGmbH.
