Residenzprogramm Kunsthaus Essen

For some time now, there has been a glaring lack of rehearsal, working and presentation spaces for creative artists of all disciplines in the cultural city of Essen. The Kunsthaus Essen is therefore offering two residency scholarships for artists based locally and regionally in the Ruhr area with the aim of providing sustainable support for creative artists working in the city and the region through the provision of work and presentation spaces and to provide the best possible living conditions for art and artists. The residency project is intended to enable professionally working creatives of all disciplines to try out artistic works, initiate research projects, establish new contacts with the artists working at Kunsthaus Essen and publicly present the results developed during the residency period.

For the residency at Kunsthaus Essen, a connected living and working studio is available on the 2nd floor of the house. The living area consists of a functionally equipped kitchen, a loft bed and a sanitary area. The directly adjoining studio consists of an approx. 60 sqm workroom with three windows and an interior washbasin.
