The 33rd annual Res Artis conference will be held for the first time in Latin America, from 18 to 23 September 2025, at FAAP, in São Paulo. The event celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Residência Artística FAAP – São Paulo arts residency and takes place in synergy with the 36th São Paulo Biennial and the France-Brazil Season (200 years of diplomatic relations).

Inputs follow the thematic lines "Unique perspectives from the global south", "Amefricanity", "The role of education in and around artist residencies" and "Art, residencies and the natural world".

The program will emphasize the significance of Indigenous and African presence in shaping the cultural and social landscape of Brazil and wider Latin America today, including how the structure and practices of art residencies in the region reflect this rich heritage.

The conference will be held in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
