Junge Akademie

"Promoting young international art in all disciplines is one of the central tasks of the Academy of Arts, which it fulfils through the residency programme of the JUNGE AKADEMIE. The JUNGE AKADEMIE has been enshrined in the Academy's statutes since 2007. The three-month residencies offer fellows time, space and resources to concentrate on their own art in a new environment. The programme creates an open space for artistic research, art and knowledge production, which is designed together with the invited artists and mentors. Artists have the opportunity to develop projects, participate in current discourses and conduct research in the Academy's archives. Artistic works are presented and communicated in open studios, events and exhibitions. It is part of the Academy's self-image to preserve this free and protected space for artistic expression, exchange and encounter across political and cultural boundaries."
