Fleetstreet Residenz

Since 1 January 2011, Fleetstreet Theater Hamburg, together with the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, the Hamburg Cultural Foundation and the Rudolf Augstein Foundation, has been running a residency programme for groups of artists who work across disciplines using the performing arts, visual arts, film and/or music. The Fleetstreet Residency Programme aims to support young groups who, with limited financial resources, develop productions that are suitable for smaller theatre spaces. The funding is also intended to provide opportunities to conduct in-depth research, try out new strategies and develop working processes. The final presentations can take the form of showings, interim presentations, discussions, exhibitions, workshops or similar and do not necessarily have to be performed as a finished production. The groups are provided with the Fleetstreet Theatre in Hamburg and a live-in studio (3 rooms, kitchen, bathroom) in the immediate vicinity of the theatre for a period of one to three months. In addition, the artists will receive funding from the Hamburg Cultural Foundation, the Ministry of Culture and Media and the Rudolf Augstein Foundation in the amount of €1,000 per month each for the costs of implementing and presenting their project (a total of €3,000 per month is thus available to the artists or group). The funding from these foundations does not have to be additional.

The first PDF should contain the Fact sheet (download a template here). Please name the file after the group or project. The second PDF should contain (application documents in German or English): - Description of the project proposals as possible with meaningful visualization in form of sketches, photos, maps (may include ideas for communication, workshops etc.) - Detailed budget for the projects (download a template here); if technical support is needed, it is possible to ask the technician of Fleetstreet Theatre. In this case please include this in the budget (300 € per day) - Self-presentation of members of the group of artists/of the artist - Documentation of completed projects (e.g. links to vimeo or the like)
