UNESCO invites cultural professionals, policymakers, emergency responders, civil society actors, and community members worldwide to participate in a new global survey examining the intersection of gender equality, culture, and emergencies. Addressed to both individuals and organizations, the survey is designed to explore how emergencies— such as armed conflicts or disasters caused by natural-induced hazards (earthquakes, wildfires, typhoons, etc.)—impact women in the cultural sector and to identify strategies to ensure their meaningful inclusion and leadership in crisis preparedness, response, and recovery efforts.
We encourage responses from:
- Professionals working in the cultural sector, including artists, heritage professionals, and cultural workers
- Policymakers and government officials involved in culture and emergency management
- Representatives from cultural organizations and institutions
- Emergency responders and humanitarian workers
- Members of civil society and community leaders engaged in cultural activities
