With the web conference PAY THE ARTIST, the German Initiative Ausstellungsvergütung brought artists, artists' associations, and politicians together at a digital round table to discuss issues related to the remuneration of artistic practice:

• Why do visual artists need an exhibition fee?
• What is the situation now in Germany and what could change?
• What are the political parties' positions on the demands for a binding exhibition remuneration?
• How could this be implemented?

The organizers planned for a constructive exchange, the perception of different perspectives and new approaches to solutions. Thomas Weis of IGBK also provided an input to the meeting.
